London, January ■!.—The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company has acquired the who'e of the iniercst and goodwill of the Pacific Steam Navigation Company in the Orient Company, together with the steamers Orotava, Oroyn, Oruba, and Ortona, engaged in the trade. The " Times," in commenting, says it may he asserted that a policy of considering the travelling public in every way will be adopted. The newly-acquired Australian trade service will henceforth be known as the Orient Koyal Mail Line.
