The Daily Telegraph's St. Peters burg corresponded says that Conn AVitte an I Count Lamsdorft' ar< surprised at Admiral Rozhdestven sky's story, to the effect that tin British licet was concentrated at Wi hai-wei with the object of dcmolishiuj the Kusssian fleet in the event ol Togo's failure, at the battle of Tsnshi.
Count Witt-c remarked that no level-headed Russian would attach importance to the allegation.
The Times' St. Petersburg correspondent says that Kozhdcstvensky desires to strengthen the impression that his defeat was due to the worthlessuess of Admiral Uiebogatoff's division, and drags in England [in order to absolve himself and prepare public opinion for his acquittal by the court-martial, mid consequent rehabilitation.
