On Frid vy I held an unreserved sale of furniture ill the Drill Hall on account of a gentlemen leaving the jdi* .let There was a large attendance and spirited bidding, excellent prices bring realised. The sale was continued on Saturday afternoon, when the balance was d'sposed of at good rates.

Cattle. —At Waiwakaiho on Tuesday there was a slightly improved demand for young cattle, but not much alteration in prices. Yearlings make !-* to 28s, 18 mouths heifers £'2 3s lid to £2 6s, IS month* to 2-year steers £2 Is to £2 10s, store rows 2ls to JSs. 2 year steers £3 15s, 3j vear fat bullocks £6 IDs. Owing to the Christinas holidays I held a sale at Stratford on TliiirxUv, when there iras a good vardiug and improved demand for most classes of stock, and prices showed an improve, mcnt on late rates. Yearlings made £1 to £1 'Js fid 12 to 15 months steers 31s to 39s (id, 2 year do. On Monday at Lepperton T held a clearing sale on account of Messrs Rivctt and Langfield, when there was a good attendance and hrisk bidding, especially for the dairy rows, which were a good lot, mostly at full prolit. Prices ranged from £1 to £7 2s lid, old eons £2 to £3 las, mare and foal £l7. colti. £ll> Ills to £l3 Ins, sows £1 Is to £2 17s lid boar £l, store pigs 13s to 2'is. Sundries sold fairly well.
