Seamstress' Bedroom and Hospital are totally destroyed, and, W sides this, a considerable quantity 01 Clothing and Furniture has been lost What this means to the children an to the matron and her staff can hardly be conveyed by mere words. 2.—NEW BUILDINGS. The matter of providing New Build iugs has been receiving the carefu consideration of the Board, as ap pears by the last two annual re ports, and a New Buildings Fun has been created. In providing permanent accommod ation, the safety of the children is consideration of paramount import ance, and this can only be secured i Buildings of Stone or Brick. 3.—THE COST.

Of such Buildings on modern lines 1 roughly estimated at from £SOOO t £7OOO, in addition to which it ma be necessary to purchase land. 4.—THE FINANCIAL POSITION. The income from the Board's En dowments is fully absorbed in main taining tho 89 children in the Honje The numbers have increased sl.*s 31st March, 1905, by 28, and for th current year, owing to such increase the Board anticipates a debit balanc of expenditure over receipts. Thi will, of course, be increased by th expenses inevitably attendant upo the Are. ..To take any considerab! sum from the Capital for buildin purposes would very seriously hamp er the work, of the Home, and preju dice the well-being of the children.
