Aii inquest was held at the morgue to-day concerning the death of a man known locally as Kicliard Lawson, who ■was found deail by the river bank in the Richmond district last night with a revolver wound iu his head, and a discharged revolver lying beside him. The evidence revealed the fact that Lawson was really George Sanderson who had deserted from the Royal Arthur two years ago. Deceased had brooded over his position, saying he was never safe, and had stated his intention to commit suicide. A- verdict was returned that the man had committed suicide while of unsound mind.
