MOTOR-CYCLE ACCIDENT.

Mil PBKSS ASSOCIATION. Chkistciiukcji, Dec, 17. A somewhnt serious accident orcurred in Montreal street this morning. A man named Charles St, John, of Kaiapoi, was riding a motor-cycle »t a speed estimated at 20 miles an hour when he. dashed into the engine of a si cam tram travelling along Moorhouse Avenue, which intersects Montreal street at right angles. Attached to the motor cycle was a side-carriage in which a Miss L. Turnbull, of Sydenham, was sitting. The motor-cycle and I carriage were pushed along the rails by the train engine for about 10 yards, during which Mr St. John and Miss Turnbull received severe injuries, the] former being very much cut and bruis-' ed, while th'e latlcr had a log broken,] in addition to being severely shaken] and bruised. Both were removed to the Hospital in a semi-conscious condition.
