TARIFF COMMISSION ON TEXTILES.
RESTRICTED TRADE IN HOSIERY. Received 17, 4.37 p.m. London, December 16. The evidence taken by the Tariff Commission on textiles shows that, as regards hosiery, practically all the witnesses dwell on the serious restriction arising from the loss of foreign markets, thus increasing the Home, neutral, and colonial markets, especially with regard to cotton hosiery, The manufacturers of fancy hosiery and underclothing state they are holding their own in Australia.
