IS THE FATHERLAND WORTH DE FENDING ?
Berlin, Dec. vS. Herr Bebcl, Socialist, in the Reichstag, referring to the increasing taxation, said that unless the workers were made comfortable they might ask whether the Fatherland was worth defending.
Herr Von Rheinbaben, Minister for Finance, complained that Herr Bebel was claiming for individual workmen the choice whether they should obey the Kaiser's call.
