There was a fairly large gathering ot the public to witness last night's exhibition, the programme of which included dumb-bell exercises, vaulting horse practice, trick work in rings and 011 th" horizontal and parallel bars, wand drill, tableaux and exhibitions of strength. The bust items were the pyramids and the tableaux on the parallel bars and the horizontal Kir evolutions, but the trick performances were also exceptionally clever, Mr Lints' item at the close was one of his own invention, and the manner in wliich he dexterously controlled his swinging fireballs was well worth going to see. Ales-rs McJsaae (clown) and West (dummy) made their lirsi appearance us luirtli-provokcrs, and were certainly a success in this direction. Orchestral music accompanied several of the items, During (lie evening comic songs were sung by .Mr L'aoper, and .Ur Thompson recited a humorous oration. Mr Ambury presided, and in opening the performance referred to the physical improvement noticeable in pupils since the commencement of the class. Mr \V. H. Skinnc.' took ,m opportunity ot commending the pupils and the director tor their excellent performance, giving Mr Lints g-eat praise for his assiduous and gratuitous a tcntiou to the classes.
