EGMONT ROAD BOARD.
At the last meeting- there were present : Messrs T. Rowe (Chairliian'H F. Sahvay, J. Martio, and H. Martin. Accounts amounting to £5 2s 6d wore presented and passed for payment. On the motion of Messrs Rowe anA .1. Martin the resolution authorising a special loan cf £.">oo for the Queen and Albert Roads was confirmed The Smart ami Dorset Roads loan of £SOO was passed, to be confirmed at next meeting. The next meeting will 'be held on Jan. 14, at 1.30 p.m. The Hoard agreed to make a new road from the Paraitu Road to Henwood Road railway station, en receipt of. £IOO voted by the Government for this work. A deputation, consisting of Messrs Atkinson, Sinclair, and Yates, asked the Hoard to contribute a sum towards inaintienHlnce oi the Kaipi Hoad outside its district, the money to be ad to the Moa Road Hoard, who would do the work. The petitioners made the request in order to s-ecuro nn outlet from thoir farms to the factory. The Chairman said he would ascertain if this Hoard could legally comply with the request if the Hoard would make a grant. The clerk, Mr Morton, Informs us that the Hoard can comply with this request.
