.[Pjsr Pbkss Association.] Di'nf.mn, December 2. The Premier visited Waihohi, which is in the liniee district, on Saturday by invitation, and reeeiveil a cordial welcome. Mr anil Mrs Seddon were cntcrtainel at a formal luncheon, after wliicJv the Premier was presented with an address. Jll his reply the Premier contrasted the present condition of affoirs with (hat of 14 years ago. A vole of thanks to the Premier for his addrss and eonlidenee in the Government were carried by acelammatien. The Premier and Mts Seddon were then taken for a cruise on the lake and subsequently entertained at, afternoon tea.
The Premier afterwards visited Stirling, where he addressed a large meeting in the evening. He referred at length to Mr James Allen's statement regarding the price of New Zealand consols, contending that, compared with other colonies, Now Zealand, stock occupied a most favourable position. He also referred to what the Government had done for the farmers in the way of granting concessions and other assistance, and 'quoted from speeches by Mr Massey and: other members of the Opposition to show that they had opposed the Lands for Settlement and other Acts. He said the 'State coal .mine was not started to find work for the unemployed but to regulate the price of coal and to cheek the importation of coal from outside. A vote of thanks and confidence in the Premier and the Ministry iras carried amidst great; enthusiasm.
