4.-THE FINANCIAL POSITION. Tho income from the Board's Endowments is fully absorbed in main- j taining tho 89 children hi the Home.; The numbers have increased si.*« «lst March, 1905, by 28, and for tho current year, owing to such increase, tho Board anticipates a debit balance of expenditure over receipts. This will, of course,: be increased by the expenses inevitably attendant upon tho lire. .To take any considerable sum from the Capital for building purposes would very seriously hamper the work of the Home, and prejudice the well-being of the children. The New Building Fund Account now stands at £lllO. The insurance on the Building destroyed is £1250. Amount available is £2360. Rough estimate of amount still required for Building is £4640 The Home has not received any Government subsidy for tho last twenty years.

It has been already slated that th Board had bogun to form a Buildin Fund. Had it proved necessary t make- a Public Appeal, in the future for that fund, the amount asked for would have been comparatively small. NOW THERE IS NO ALTERNANATIVE : THE APPEAL HAS TO GO FORTH TO-DAY FOR AT LEAST jg 50(U THE APPEAL OF THE CHILDREN For the sake of the good work l done in past years, for the sake of the larger work to be done now and in the years to come, and above all, in the name of Christ, for the sake of His little cues, wo appeal for help.
