Political Notes.

Mr Bellritiger addressed the electors at Motuvoa last evening, and re ceived an attentive and appreciative heaving. Major Coleman wrs in the chair. Mr Beliringei-'s address was on the lines of his previous speeches. At the conclusion Major Coleman moved a vote of thanks to Mr Bellringer, This was seconded by Mr A. Rosser. of Auckland, who complimented the candidate on his lucid manner of dealing with public questions, A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting. On Wednesday evening Mr E. M. Smith addressed the electors of Fitzroy in the hall. There was a large assemblage present. The speaker was frequently applauded during his address, which lasted two hours. Mr Steele was voted to the chair, which he ably filled. At the conclusion Mr Steele moved a hearty vote of thanks to the candidate for his able and interesting address, which was carried with enthusiasm. A vote of thanks to the chair ended the largest meeting yet held in Fitzroy. To-night Mr Smith speaks at King and Upland Road.

'(Per Press Association.) PALMEKSTON N., Nov. 29. Mi' F Pirnui baa notified the editor of the Manawatu Daily Times that ho intends to pr< ceed against him under section 150 of the Electoral Act 1905 for publishing in the correspondence columns a letter which he alleges is an untrue statement, defamatory to him as a candidate, and likely to influence the voting. This is the first case under this Statute.
