CAMPBELL TRIED FOR MUKDEIt. O'er Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 23. The trial of Andrew Campell 011 a charge of murdering Kobt. Hislop at Hotoriia eommencod to-day. For the defence it was stated that His'op atone time boarded at Campbell s house, but was asked to leave owing to hi.s conduct to Mrs Campbell. Since then he had annoyed Mr and Mi* Campbell, sending the latter disgusting letters. He culled at the house on the night of tho tragedy and made a most insulting remark about Mrs Campbell. Accused then got a pea rifle and ordered deceased to leave The latter refused and accused then shot him and gavo himself up to the, police. The ease was adjourned.
