The Federal Council Lis approval of the Estimates foil9o(i,addiug t> the war ships provided under the law of June, 1900,0f five large ciniseis for foreign service, a fleet of large cruisers for the reserve, and increasing the torpedoer divisions from 10 to 21. A quarter of a million cterling annually is to be devoted to experiments with submarines. The increase to the fleot entails an additional permanent expenditure of million sterling, and involves t an additional 126 officers, and 5163 wan-ant officers and men.
