The Ilarboumiastei* (Captain Hood) reported; —During the four weoks ending Nov. 15, 1905, 25 gtenmers berthed at tlie wharf, the aggregate gross tonnage amounting to fiolO tons, including Gl7 tons railway coal and 3% tons local coal. Expoits r cro 091 tons, making a total of 1101 tons of cargo handled. During the four weeks we have experienced strong and variable winds and moderate seas, and very heavy rain. FOREMAN'S REPORT. The foreman of works (Mr |l'\ Henderson) reported as folloivs : - 1 beg t > l eport, progress of works for the past month as follows Bieakwater Extension, Twentyfour concrete blocks have been made, making a total number of 152 since beginning work at the extension. Of this number 49 we're"iised on the 74ft already completed, leaving 10f> available for further extension. Work has been again resumed at th i end and can now lie continued without interruption throughout the summer months. About 1000 casks of cement will yet be required to buil i up the superstructure.

Wharf Extension. Twenty-one piles have been driven, comprising 3 bays, 8 sets of headstocks and longitudinal stringers put in, and the decking carried forward a length of 80ft.. The piles are driving very freely and going well down to the specified depth. Wharf. - Repairs have been effected at the north-west comer of the wharf, and 0 chafing pieces put on the fender piles at the side. Plant. The following repairs have been eli'octed to the plant Forty ton crane ; i) new spur wheels in the travelling gear. New live ton crane : Repairs to revolving gear. Old five ton crane: The boiler and nil fittings replaced iu position. This crane is again ready for use
