A DISASTROUS THUNDERSTORM.
SIX INCHES OF HAIL, (Per Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Nov. 8. „ A heavy thunderstorm passed over the ilisfer'icl;. at 1 o'clock to-day, accompanicd by an extraordinary hail fall, which was six inches deep ill tire streets, and as large as marbles. It lasted about half an hour. The fruit trees in blossom must be destroyed tor the season, and shorn sheep will fare badly. CHRISTCHURCII, Nov. 8. The storm has conic up from the South, having tracllcd over South Canterbury, soakin, thecountiy as it came along. The flashes of lightning were very vivid.
