During last Week, Mr (i. Tisch addressed the electors in the Albert Road school. There was a guoil attendance, Mr .lames Mall being cliosui chairman. The speaker touched on many subjects, pointing out that the town depended on the farmers, wh.> Were Ihe mainstay of the country, anil whose interests he would always he found advocating. Several quest ions were asked. The chairman moved, ami Mr Peters seconded, a hearty vole of thanks, which was carried hy acclamation, a similar compliment to the ehvirm;.ii being carried. Qwing to Uw. heavy downpour of rain there was .only a moderate attendance at Kgmoni Village, where Mr A. Morton presided. Mr Tisch delivered his address, and stated lie would pay another visit, when he hoped the elements Would be. more favourable. Mr Dciihirsl moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Tpc'i fot( his very interesting address. A similar vole was passed to the chairman.
MK MAJOR AT 01,'UNAKK. Mr Major addressed a large audience at Opuuakc on Friday evening, and dealt with the important politiral'questions in a lucid and convincing- way. Mr Dudley, chairman of the Town Hoard, occupkd the chair. Mr 11. Moore proposed a vote of thanks and cou'-dciicis stating that Mr Major hid attended to the wants of (he district heller than air. iiicnthtr had since. Ihe late Major Atkinson. Mr John (iuy seconded, adding that the candidate had made the best speech ever delivered in the Opunakc Mall. A resolution of thanks and conliik-ntc Was carried unanimously.
