(We are not responsible for tho opinions expressed I*' correspondents). UiON SAND. (To the Editor.) Sir,—Most Government magnate, Ministers anil 51.11.1t's who visit England seem to be deeply interested in the promotion of Tarauaki iron sand affairs, and forward from Home slowing report* of progress. The late Sir Alfred Cadnian, in floating a title, as well as a company, was undi stood to have almost secured the fortunes of Tiraiiiiki by the establishment of the iron sand industry, while E. M. Smith, Esij., M.H.R., long ago was upposod to have "fixed up" finally and .'atisfaetorily every arrangement for the carrying out of the works on a scale almost defying conception, ytt oddly enough the matter seems more or less to drop, the scheme to " hang fire," prolonged delay still the only result. Surely t'-ie exertions of Mr Withoford, M U.K., this time in;Engand, will be crowned with positive and eserviric success. ■ Yours, etc.,. c.yv w.
