ANNUAL MEWING
Tbe annual meeting of the Taranaki Poultry, Pigeon ami Canary Society was held at the. office of the secretary (Mr K. P. Webster) on Thursday evening. Mr U. 11. Morgan (l'lesidiiil) was in the chair, and there was but a small attendance of members. Oil moving the adoption of the bal-ance-sheet, the President said that, the actual proliis of the past, year, did'jct-ing amounts incurred in the previous year, amounted lo £37 8s ■id, which must be considered very creditable, especially as the seasoin had not been a goo d one for show purposes. In order to popularise the local exhibition,, the Society intended making a strenuous ellort to get the, date of the show altered to a time about June, and it was desired 10. send a delegate to the Conference at Palmerston North to urge the matter. The Association had not made the best possible arrangement for the various shows in the North Island' Kelerrtng t„ the prize schedule Ihe President said the Society had voted thirty KtiHicas as sptcial prizes in three; divisions, and these had been won by local breeders. Mr Boulton seconded the adoption of the balance-sheet, which was carried.
A bonus of £5 5s was v.ned to Ihe secretary. Votes of thanks were accorded the retiring officers and Hid Tress. "
