A wipurb exl»biti.Tn will Ife stag**} oa?ch evening, of fancy and ariisti® dancing, and choruses, ■including)actio* song-s, selections from tho opdras, etc. About 100 performers havo l>eon under tuition by Mrs Connop for some -time past, and a real treat is in store jpr patrons., ns it is on a scale not hitherto presented locally. Then» will be .special costumes for the various items, ami these are now being prepared. What are likely to be vory popular selections aro the cbojrift and 'dauicc -''Take your; pretty Pa>rt.nor" (adapted from "The Country Girl") in which tight partners participate ; and "Tell me. pretty Maiden/' (from "Kloradora") in wkich six couples 'take part. These together with the Spanish Kstudentiiw danco ami choruses (Spanish costume) aro admirable items, and tho K'oung ladies Uifl gentlemeH arc taking their roles with pleasing vim and spirit'! ns a ropfcsnnitat ive of the News noted at Friday evening's rehearsal. The stately minuet ("Watorlily" costume# was gone through on thafc occasion very gracefully,ami the same may ha said of the "How sarotte" a dainty rythmical selection in: "which eight lassies appear. Twelve little girls go through a easda hoe with plrosiug unison and grace, a3 if to tho mannor born, ami a score of littlu ones, appropriately attired, tngage in a sprightly "Fairy Da'nce," wilh channing effect. " The. Poppy HnUel" in wlvich the young ladies will he attired in " poppy " costume, is a. spirited, withal gracefully, executed dance, in which the performers act with perfect prccisioij} and skill. In an exhibition of skirt j dancing a little girl of ten shows considerable charm and talent. ''The c\nvil Chorus" from the opera " II Trovatore," is also hei'ng effectively rehearsed. r rhe 'pr;oliciency of the large number taking part in the pro gramme, both in the Terpsichorcan art and the vocal accompaniments is a splendid tribute, to the skill and patiuncfc of Mrs Ct/nnop, who has wori'cd enthusiastically in the matter.
