A Christtshuich telegram states that v r James Scully, who died at his tede.iee, St. AlUiii'k, on Sunday, was formerly in the British Army, Where he held the lank of Sergeant-Major in the 9Hth Regiment, and had also been a prominent, volunteer in Now Zealand. Mr .1. S. Uockrill, son of .Mr E. Dockrill, and it former pupil at the New Plymouth High School, has passed his entrance examination to Trinity College, Dublin, with honours, after only ten months' schooling at St. Andrew's College, Dublin. His success reflects < rodii on the excellent training imparted at the High Schocl.
