BAItKCTT. The Barrett Road Hoard met at Hie' office of the secretary (Mr \\ U. Morton) on Friday. Present: Messrs A. Ucorgc, 15. Honeytiehi, and 11. tJilchrist. The Treasury notified that £SOO, the hist instalment of the £150(1 loan for work on the Devon line, had been paid to the Hoard's credit at the I Sauk The following tenders for the extension ol Devon Koad were received : Pikett and Wilkic i;a«s, Kyngdon and blerridge £11(10, C. HenricKsen £1217 ss, to. K. Hilling £160", Magee and Jenkins £I9BS 10s. Satisfactory arrangements having been made with the bank, the Hoard decided to accept the lowest lender, that of Messrs Pikett Mid Wilkic. Accounts amounting to £3B 17s ltd were passed for payment. The allocation of expenditure of rates [or the ensuing year was made, the amount availa'ld,' being calculated at £3l)(), including Uovemjnent subsidy, The expenditure authorised was :-Purciiase of land £SO, Barrett Koad £l9, Oniala Road £ls, Magdon Ruad £.">, Bailee Road £l, Cutficld Road £5, Bell Road £7, Devon Road work £3O, Hinc Street £5, Western Road £3, Tapuae 3oad £3, and balance for .interest, sundries and salaries.
