:—o Sydney, October fi. At the Lands Commission a number of bank officials were examined regarding Crick's banking accounts. In one case, in connection with the sale of property, wherein Peter Close gave evidence of receiving £SOO commission, of which he handed Crick hull, the bank manager deposed that the owner of this property in June, 1901, drew £SOO from his account. Witness took the number of the notes before paying out to the man, who drew the amount and informed Inn.' what he Intended doing with them. Tn December following the same notes were paid to Crick's banking account. Peter Close was further examined, and detailed a conversation with Crick, who said. "These land agents are making a lot of money. There is no reason why you and I should not make Rome. You must understand distinctly though, if you bring anything to me, that will in any way prejudice n.y public interest, I will have nothing to do with it ; it is no use bringing anything that is not proper and legal." Close added that Crick had no objection to shnring the amounts with him where the transactions were square and above board and not detrimental to the publie interest. Sydney, October 7. Besides the sums previously mentioned. Peter Close deposed that he halved commissions of .£7BO and £750 with Mr Crick. .
