N.S. Wales Liquor Bill.

In tie Assembly, I the A-torney-General, in moving the second reading of the Liquor Bill, said there would be absolutely no money compensation provided; upon that the Government would stand fearlessly, because they recognised that rather than dislocate the ordinary business of the hotels it would pay to give a reasonable time to licenses to run. He quoted legal authorities to show that there was no such, thing as i vested interests in licenses, and declared ninety per cent. of the; hotels were "tied" houses, and | that the agitation against the Bill emanated from wealthy brewers who had entered into speculations with their eyes fully open to the probabilities of the situation.
