The Recent Slander Actions.
We regret extremely that a letter signed by Mr Edgar Walt was published in our columns yesterday. We arc assured that he discontinued tho actions without any previous interview with Mr Samuel (counsel for the defendants) and without any bargaining with the defendants or any promise from Mr Samuel or from either of them. iMT Samuel to-day, in open Court, read a letter from Me Watt to each defendant expressing his great regret at having brought the actions, and l the cases were struck out—plaintiff having to pav defendants' costs in both actions.
