DEATH OF MR C H ARNDT
A SAD FATALITY. Saturday's Stiatford Evening Post say«— Mr diaries Henry Arndt, a well-known Stratford business man, died at the County Hotel this morning with tragic suddenness, . Mr Arndt retired last night apparently in Ms usual health. About hall-past eight this morning ho was heard to call out, evi dently in pain. On some of his fell wboarders entering the room, Mr Arndt wa s foi.nl to be KulTcring from a lit o£ some description. Dr Paget was sent for, and after a short time left tho patient, who appeared to be recovering. Mr K. IS. Stohr and others visited him at short intervals. A iltle before ten o'clock the lit occurred, and
Drs Paget and Mcnzies were sent for, but Mr Arndt passed away a few minutes afle'' the arrival of the latter. The medical men are unable, without holding a pos! mortem' to diagnose Ihc cause of death Tin p:>lico wvrc communicated with, and Inspector Kiely and Constable Ityan immediately commenced investigations, and ll>e Coroner wa communicated with. An inquest, will b: held. Deceased was D.O.A. and a general Commission Agcul. For two years lie wa-i J secretary of the Taranaki Itugby Union. He 1 leaves a wife (nee Jloellei) and oi.e child who at present arc in Wellington.
