Mr W. T. Jennings was in town on Monday, and returned to Wellington tc-day.
Mr G. H, Duncan has been appointed local representative for the Citizens' Lifp Assurance Company. Mr Hirst, electrical engineer to the Newcastle (N.S.W.) City Council, was in Now Plymouth on Monday. The Superintendent of the Tourist Department has been advised that Mr Hall, one of the biggest hardware merchants in St. Louis, is leaving San Francisco for New Zealand next week. He intends to stay six or eight weeks in the colony. Mr Charles Booscy, head of the well-known London firm ot music pubI'lshcrs and instrument makers, died at Biokley (England) on July 21th. Lite ballad concerts for so long conducted at St. James's Hall, London, were initiated by deceased's late brother, Mr John Boosey.. Mr j. k. Regarding the recent appointment as notifiefl in t|?P New Zfealand Gazette of Mr Thos. W. Fisher, ol New Plymouth, as the President of Aotea District Maori Land Council, and Judge of the Native Land and Appellate Court, it is understood that Mr Fisher will in any case until March 31 next retain the West Coast Settlement Reserves District work.
