NELSON COPPER PROPERTIES.

(Per Press Association.! NELSON, Aug. 29. Further important developments have taken place in the mineral belt in the copper properties, found and owjied chiefly by (Jhristchurch and Timaru capitalists. The lode in I'nited Xo. 7 level has been driven on 2, r >ft, ami is now three feet wide in solid, with clear good quality ol sulphide ore, and steadily improviug. Some thirty feet have still to bo driven before coming to ore. The bodies first cut between N'os. 2 and 7 levels are expected to be four hundred feet backs. What is known as the "Stinking" lode, at Arrow Creek continuation of the United, opened out and appears to be six feet wide. At Mount Claude there is a smalt lode, and still further north a ton of ore was taken out at six feet sinking, giving 32 per cent, of all ores that lend themselves to pyritic smelting.
