Australian Control of Liquor Traffic.
_ (Received Aug. 30. 1 a.m.) SYDXEY, Aug. 29 The Liquor Bill Introduced in tha Assembly to-night prevents the opening of further hotels. The numbernow in the State is to be the maximum. A local option vote is to be taken every general election. The questions to be answered will be: Continuation of existing license* , reduction : and no license. A bare majority will secure continuation or reduction, but a two-thirds majority is required for no license. Half th« electors must vote to make the poll -effective. So money compensation is • Mowed, but a ttma notice is to be
given ranging from six months to two years.
The Bill provides for the registration of clubs, and prohibits barmaids under the age of 21 years.
