WANGANUI, Aug. 29. j The football match, Auckland v. Wanganui, was played to-day, and resulted in a victory for Wanganui by four points (a goal from a mark) to nil, alter a hard-fought and oven game. Wanganui attacked for tho major part of the first spell, in whicii Craig kicked a goal from a mark. In the second spell Auckland had slightly tho better of the play, and near the close of the game Kicruan had a penalty kick in front of the Wanganui goal, but failed to convert. The gamo thus ended amidst tremendous excitement, without further score.
