Lord Roberts' Mission

Lord Roberts, at Llanelly, admitted that the regular army was as efficient as it possibly could tie with the training received, but what was wanted was not merely efficient regulars and auxiliaries, but the whole manhood ol the nation as a great potential reserve of force that would save the nation if it was assailed.
