MR NEWTON KINO'S WEEKLY AUCTION REPORT. At the Haymarket on Saturday pigs sold at slightly improved prices, good weaners made 8s 6d to lii.s t)d, weaners 6s to 7s 6d ; horses £2 y las to £3 13s. At the mart there was again a nice quantity of poultry and good prices were realised. Cockrels made Is 4d to 3s, pullets Is 3d to 3b Id, hens Is to 2s 4d. Ducks Is 9d to 2s 3d. A quantity, of sundries made low prices.

Fruit.—The following prices were realised during the week Apples 2s to Bd, oranges 4fc to Bs, mandarins 5s to 7s, bananas 2d.

Cattle.—On Friday,, at Egjnont Road, I held a clearing sale on account of Mr P. C. Buckthought. There was a ( very largfe attondjajnee from all parts ol the district. The cows were mostly young but not Well forward, and prices consequently did not rule as high as they would otherwise have done. Springers made £5 10s to £7 ss, spring calves £5 to £v! ss, breeding sows 35s to £3. A large quantity of furniture, sundries, and implements sold at prices in favour of buyers. At Stratford on Tuesdat, there was a fair yarding of store cattle and a large muster of dairy stock. Good calves to yearlings sold at slightly improved rates, but other classes of stock were unchanged. There was a good competition for dairy cows and nearly all sold at satisfactory prices. Early calvcrs made £5 10s to £7, heifers £4 fis to £5 ss, small calves made lis to 16s, calves to yearlings 2(?s to 32s Ed, store cows 22s Jo £2 10s, 18 to 20 months empty heifers 495.

On Wednesday, at Mimi, I held one of the most successful sales of the season on account of Mr W, Gordon Glassford. The cows were a very nice lot and in good condition, and the sale being absolutely without reserve, attracted several outside buyers, who by their brisk Welding, showed in a most gratifying manner to Mr Glassford their keen appreciation of the bonafide nature of the sale. The whole herd of 96 cows, including a few aged and several backward calvers, averaged over £6 6s. Springing cows made £6 10s to £9 10s, late calvcrs £3 to £6, cows in milk £4 10s to £7 15s, 18 months heiiers in calf £3 2s 6d to £4 ,7s Bid, yearling heifers, half bled Jersevs, £2 12s 6a.

On Thursday I held a clearing sale on the Salisbury Road on account of Mr T. Mcßcth. There was a good attemlance and satisfactory prices were realised throughout. Forward springing cows made £6 15s to £lO, backward springors £4 10s to £6, late calvers but good cattle £6 5s to £7 ss, empty cows £2 to £3, hulls £2 7s (id to £3, yearlings 24s to 345, springing heifers £6 to £6 2s 6d, trap mare £l4, breeding sows £4 to £4 2s 6d. I At our Urenui yards on Monday we htd a good entry of cattle. Bidding was slow at the. hammer, but afterwards 'most lines changed hands. We i quote Pigs (slips) 7s, sows (in farrow) from 22s 6d to 38s, calves up to 295, yearlings 29s to 335, 2 year empty heifers from 42s 6d to 555, 2 to 2i year,steers 45s 6d to 655, dairy cows from £5 to £6 (31 sold), for--1 ward cows 655, cows and calves 55s t to G2s; 2J to 3 year steers from 'ss to £4 (63 sold), bulls 455. ; At Waitara on Tuesday competition - was aot spirited. Calves made up • to 265, yearling Jcrsey-Holstein heifi ers sold at 48s, calves to yearlings ' 26s to 32s fid, cows and calves 4fc, - heifers (late calvers) £3, springing i heifers £3 3s to £4, fat cows £4 4s i to £5, springing cows (old) £2 to £S 7s ,6d, bulls 41s. We held a clearing sale of dairy stock, etc,, at Mr T. Clare's farm onf Thursday, which was well attended by neighbouring farmers and others. The cows were backward and In not too good condition, and, taking these circumstances into consideration, sold well. Cows made up to £8 ss, draught horses from £26; to £3O. Implements .realised good prices. MESSRS BEWLEY AND GRIFFITHS' WEEKLY REPORT. There was a splendid entry of poultry, and a very large attendance. Hens realised Is id to 2s lOd, cockrels Is 4d to 2s 6d, ducks Is lid to , 2s 4d. Furniture found the usual value, and a large quantity changed hands. A large consignment of flowering shrubs found buyers rapidly, Fruit..—Apples Pp (Id to 8s per case, bananas 2s 6d, oranges 2s to 3s (small eases). MESSRS VTCKEKS & STEVENS' REPORT, There was a large entry oi cattle in our Inglewood yards on Wedncs. day, the majority being 'dairy cattle, which were considerably easier than last sale. Calves to yearlings made from £1 to £1 ,7s, empty heifers £2 9s 6d to £3, store cows £1 10s

to £2 15s, 2 year old steers £2 19s springers £3 10s to £5 13s. At Mr J. Taylor's sale, on the Egmont Road, on Monday, there was a fair attendance. Cows made '—Old and backward £2 to £3 7s 6d forward cows £4 1 2s 6d to £8 15s, springing heifers £3 12 Gs to £3 17s 6d ; sows and litters £5 to £7 12s 6d. At Mr H. Buxton's sale, on the Kaimata road, on Tuesday, there was l a good attendance and good prices were realised. Old and backward cows made from £1 15s no £3 10s forward springers £4 to £7 7s 6d, bay gelding £l3, gig £l9, and sundries at good prices. We report the sale of Mr G. and W. Aiken's farm, ol 500 acres at. Tarata, to Mr J, P. Clifford, at a satisfactory price. BUCKLAND AND SON'S WEEKLY I REPORT.

(Special to News.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 25. Horses.—There was keen competition for young and useful sorts. Medium and light draughts made £23 10s to £4O, light harness and hacks £0 15s to £22 10s, weeds and ponies £1 to £8 15s, At Rcmuera heef Was in moderate supply, and slightly better worth steers making from £6 10s to £l2* :ows £5 to £7. '

Sheep.—Best wethers made up to !Bs, ewes to 235. Pigs were in full supply, porkers ielliug up to 35g, banners to 60s,
