Horses.—On Friday, at the Durham Yards, a large number of medium and heavy draughts were yard* ed, and anything of a good quality sold frcelv. Heavy draughts so:d from 122 3s to £lO ; medium ditto, £1!) to £35 ; hacks and light harness horses, £5 10s to £ls; weeds, £2 Ids to £7 ss. The hay stallion Federation brought 100 guineas. At Waiuku, on Saturday, there waa large muster of stock of all classes, which met with a ready sale. Dairy cows sold from £1 10s to £!> empty cows, £1 15s to £3 10s ; calves, £1 Is to £2 7s ; grown steers, £5 5s to £5 16s ; beef at Newmarket rates. At Clevedon on Monday there was ; fair muster. Dairy cows, £4 5s to £6 10s ; empty ditto, £1 1-ls to £2 9s ; calves, £1 Is to £1 19s. Sheep : Wethers, at 18s fid to £l.
j Cattle.—At the Newmarket- Yards ' on Tuesday, fat stock were penned in es numbers than the previous week. , and showed a slight improvement it. j values ; oxen sold up to 24s per 100 .- lb ; cows, 18s to 21s ; steers sold from £1 10s to £lO 17s Gd ; cows £4 5s to £8 IDs.
Dairy cows w-ere yarded in average numbers, and sold from £4 10s to £8 ; empty ditto, £2 10s lo £3 2s fid ; calves, £1 8s to £2 13s.
Sheep were yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday, in barely average numbers ; ecnipetilion was keen. V e quot< wethers from Ids 9d to £1 10s 3d ; ewes, His 3d to £1 2s !)d ; hoggets, 12s Gd to 16s Gd.
We submitted an extra large cala!oi:\:e of hides, skins, anil tallow on Tuesday, all lines being sold under keen competition.
