DEATH OF A NEW ZEALAND OFFICER.
'Per TVess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 23. News has been received here of the death of Lieutenant Garcia, by drowning in the Scinde River, India. Deceased, who served in South Africa with the Imperial Yeomanry and Second New Zealand Contingent, was a native of this city. He was a keen athlete.
