PERSONAL NOTES.
Mr W. D. Holbrook who some time ago arrived in this town from Manchester (England) was recently the recipient of an address on vellum, which reads as follows—"Mr William D. Holbrook, of New Plymouth, New Zealand.—We, the undermentioned memebrs of the Manchester Corn, Grocery, and Produce Exchange, do most heartily congratulate you en thc occasion of your marriage. We wish you and your wife every happiness, and hope that you will hotly live long to enjoy thc blessings 01 this world. We trust that, your car-, eer of usefulness, which has hitherto ■ileui considerable, aided as it will be by the counsel and companionship of your wife, may increase in the future. Manchester, June 23rd. 1905." Attached to thc address are the signatures of 23 representative men.
A farewell banquet is to he given to Dr. Good at ftlanaia, on the 23r;i insl. Dr. Good has always taken a prominent part in all social affairs iconnccted with the town, and many will be glad of Ibis opportunity of saying farewell.
