Central School Committee.
A of tho Centra! School Committee was held at the Borough Council Chambers on Monday evening. There were present: Mr W. A. Collis (Chairman), Kevs. TV. R. Woolley pwl S..S. Osborne, and Messrs. Maunder,' Whifc, Freethy, F. Okey, Catran, ami Jackson. Mr W. E._ Spencer (Inspector) was also preset. 1 • —Sewerage.— The Education Board wrote that the sewerage connection at the Central School would bo Carried out when the Board is in a position to make alterations in the out offices. —Boiard Subsidy.—
The Hoard notified that a sifosidy of £7 10s i!d, for a coal and wood shed and articles destroyed ljy lire, had been placed to the committee's credit'. —Technical School.— Mr Spencell detailed the progress mndo in Connection with the .TechMCal School Classes, which he Considered very satisfactory. HeHihought the year would end with « credit bulanoe. 'He also reported on th® correspondence \vitlv I.he Eduentiion Department regaining the building of a technical school. He hioped tm see the building ready for occupation by, March irie.tt, in: time to commence the new term there.
The Committee* congratulated Mr Spencer on the present position of tl'.nc classes. —Testimonial.— It was reported that the various school committees had Sent in Subscription lists totalling £G for thoproposed testimonial to Mr Alls-! worth, latp Chairman of the Education' Board.
The drafting and arrangements for presentation of a suitable address were left to a committee ronsiisting of the Chairman, secretary, and Mr Maunder, —VisiiUng Committee.— Mr White, of the visiting enuiniittee. for the month, made a [avoura/olv report regarding the schools.
