A New Railway Device.

An official trial ot the automatic tablet exchanger was made to-day on the railway IJfctwecii Christchurch and Rolleston, the stations between Hie places mentioned having been fitted with the apparatus, which is the realisation ot an idea of Mr Wynne, signal and electrical engineer. In every case the exchange was complete, trains at times attaining the high irate of speed of fifty miles per hour. The invention does away with the , present risk run by stationmasteis [and engine-drivers in exchanging talilets when travelling at a high rate of speed, and at night.
