Everything .was sold at higher prices than anticipated, .bidding being brisk from start to finish. The average for the 90 ', dairy cows was a fraction under £6 per head, several horses and sundries including gig, were sold at satisfactory prices. Prices realised were as (oHows:— Septemtjr and October ealvers from £4 10s to £7 10s, springers £6 to £8 2s 6d, cows in milk and late ealvers £4 to X 6, Store cows bom £2 5s to £5. The line of springing heifers advertised mot with great competition, prices Tanging from £3 10s to £5 ss, averaging £4 12s fid per bead. Bull £3 2s 6d, sow in pig £1 15s, calves, late weaners, 8s per bead.

Fat sheep.—The supply was a moderate one in point of numbers, but included some extra prime lints 01 balf-fcred and merino wethers. The gale did not open quite up to the previoas week's rates, butchers' requiremeaU evidently not being so large. Towards tie close of the sale, however, there Was improvement, and prices fully recovered. The range o( prices was:—Extra prime Wethers 28s to 30s 3d, prime 24s to 27s Bd, lighter Sis to 23s ; extra prime ewes 22s 60 to 265, good to prime Its to 21s 9d, aged Hss to 18s extra prime merino wethers 23s 6d to 29s ; prime 18s 6d to 21s 2d, others 13s «d to 17s 2d. Fat cattle.—The number penned totalled 154, and a proportion of the yarding was of prime quality. There was a fair demand, and practically no change in values. For J. H. Davison (St. Leonard's) one steer sold at £l4; for D. Rutherford, (Leslie Hills) 8 steers at £lO 12s Bd.to £l2 10s; 6 heifers £8 2s 6d to £» 7s 6d ; lor Bealey Bros. (Ho, rorata), ,4 steers £8 15s to £l3 15s, 2 heifers £2. 7s 6d to £lO 10s. heifers £5 5s to £8 (Is 6d, cows £4 10s to £7 10s, .equal to 22s to 23s for prime, 19s W to 21s for medium, and 17b 6d to 19s lor cow and inferior per 100 ft. A fair entry of veal calves sold at ) 76 td to 555. Store dairy cattle.—Practically no entry of store cattle. A small yarding ol dairy cows met with an irregular sale, the iiest price being £? 15s.

Fiji.—Only a few bacon pifjs and bo demand for them. Porkers were firmer, and there was a rerv cnod sale for stores. Porkers sold at 27s M, equal to A\i to 5d per lb. A line of 35 rough pigs from the Chatham Islands made 20s to 40s for fats and 15s to 30s for stores.
