DEATH OF AN EARLY SETTLER.

(Per Press Association) NAPIER, Aug. 16. Mr George Faulknor, one of Napier's early settlers, who has been in business here as a coach-builder [or nearly forty years, died to-day. Deceased was lor many yeavs a member of the Borough Council and of the Hospital ant} Charitable Aid Board, of wliioh body he was for some time treasurer. He was also one of the founders,.of, awl a trustee of, the Napier Working Men's Club. In private as well as in public life, lie wa.i greatly respected, and had many friends in all parts!of the colony. The Borough Council adjourned' their meeting to-night out of respect t» the Memory of the. deceased.
