(We arc not responsible for opinions expressed by correspondents.) THE DAIRY INDUSTRY. (To the Editor.) Sir—l have lead with much pleasure your leader in this morning's issue of your paper, Mr Kinsclla's address is full ot interest. It is thoroughly truthful and. practical, and goes straight to, the point. His suggestions are invaluable, and it only remains for tho dairy farmer to act upon them.—Yours, etc., JAMES KOWIN. Hawcra, Aug. 15..

THE TARANAKI REPRESENTATIVE TEAM... (To the Editor.) Sir,— Supporters of football want to know on what lines the representative team nas Heen chosen. It certainly cannot be on club form, as the men who have been showing the best form in club matches are totally ignored. To my knowledge the selector only saw one match during the season, so how can he be qualified to judge the best, as the North and South matches are, year after year, only scrambles in which i men have no chance to display their best form. Two men in particular, T. Smith, and Tukapa's lock man, Dyne, are excluded, much to the surprise oi the football .public. The credit of Tukapa's clean scrum work is largely due to' Dyne, he being undoubtedly the best lock in Tarauaki. As regards Smith, the speedy Star tlm-c----'fj.uarter, on his play this season ho ought to have heeu the first back chosen, for on form he is far superior to Abbott, who has been chosen as a New Zealand representative three-quarter back. Smith, on his play, especially on three occasions, showed form good enough for any intercolonial team, Why is lie not chosen for a provincial team, as ho is undoubtedly the best hack in Tarauaki this season ? What is the prejudice against him, as he had proved himself the best scoring hack in Tarajnaki for years ami very sound in defence, yet lie is always overlooked '.' I The men who have proved themselves the best this season I place as follows for a representative team to give a good account of themselves : Full, Hardgrcaves ; three-quarters, T. Smith, C. Shcehan, Hourkc; fiveeighth, Thomas ; half, Frcwin' wings Guy and Rqthery ; fgrwards, H. Wilson, Mofflt, Ryan, Dyne, McKay Crawley, Wilson. This is the opinion of a great majority of the football public. Thanking you for your space. —I am, etc.
