The monthly meeting of the Taranaki U»nd Hoard was held at New Plymouth on Tuesday. The Cotiimis.sioncr of Crown Lands (Mr F. The application of C. It. Tebbutt and E. G. Bennett were npproved, subject to the rt>nt' conceded under Ike Bush «nd Swamp Act being paid up to date of the transfer, and the ira.nsle.ree continuing to pay therein following in tie usual manner. The remaining applications were approved, that of J. W. Upson luting conditional on the improvements being verified by the ranger. J. O'Shnughnessy applied to transfer a portion, ajiout sewn acres, of section 23, block 3, Omonn, to Howard Worthinglm for a building site. Isabella lioddio applied for the freehold of section 18, block 12, Ngaiie. —Approved, -Suh-lxiasos.— 'The following applications were approved :-(;. E. The Hoard could not see its way to grant the application. Jas. Coleman asked if in the event ol his making application fov section 1, block IS, Omona, he could obtain a Lose oi sections 10, 27, and 28, block 12, Omona, for a Homestead site, The Hoard could only grant n temporary lease o( these sections. —Forfeitures.— A. O. Connor applied to surrender section 3. block 2, Aria, as he found it impossible to holtl it,

The surrender was aeoepted. F. L. Tarrant applied tl'rat section 1, block 8, Ngatimaru, be forfeited and submitted for competition at n reduced price.—Referred to tho ranger for report. —Residence Conditions. i 11, 11. iPetherick explained that through his wife holdilng a small section in Epunl Hamlet, in the Wellington Land District, he had up to the present been prevented from improving section 24, Mock 15, Aria, but Having now sold his Epuni interest iie was prepared to improve his section.

The applicant was granted three months' extension of time to effect the necessary improvements. Thos, Taylor wrote that he pould not yet take his family on section 15, blpck 15, Aria, and applied for a further extension of time in which to take up residence.—Six months' extension was granted.

T. F. Symmans wrote Hint tliiougln he wsis not residing on sections 1(54 and 16.), block 1, Muhoe, he was working on the roads near Whangamomonu.—Six months' ex'tcntion of time was granted. -Hush Felling.Eleanor Henson and Geo. Clark applied for section 5, block 8, Ohurn, or U'ave to fell the bush by the survey jiegs on the old rohds.—lt was decided to refuse the application and to inform the applicants that they can only fell the bush up to the boundary of their hoMing. —Timber Cutting.—

W. F. Dowman applied for permission to cut timber from Mangpnoa township for pit-sawing.

Permission was gi.ven to cut Umber tinder the supervision of the ranger, and upon payment of a royalty of sixptneu per 'IOO superficial foot. —Access.— 11. M. Skcet, District Surveyor reported on the application of 11. .1. Dougherty for access to the nearest water for his section 10, block 13, Ohura, He submlttotl a proposal tc amend the northern boundary of the section so as to include a small piece of section 17 between the present boundary and a stream. The recommendations were adopted. —New Leases.— Carl Hitter applied: for a lease ot section 27, block 12, Ngaire, a reserve for travelling stock. It was agreed to grant 'a yearly tenancy at a rcnt'al of £5 13s (id per annum.
