THE CAULFIELD STEEPLECHASE. Two Horses Destroyed. (Received Aug. 12, 7.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Aug. 12. Rain fell this morning, but ceased, at noon. The Caulfield Grand National Steeplechase, tour miles, resuited Beilis 12.3 1, Find Out 9.Q 2, Isis 11.7 3. Thirteen started. Beilis was warm favourite at 9to 4 against. Shortly! after the start Freedom took charge, and led upon entering,the third round, his closest attendants having been Bosun, Find Out, Laniond, The Toiler and Beilis. When on the railway side, the last turn round, Beilis went to the front, ami won hard held by two lengths. Time, tain 3jsec. Freedom, who fell at the last hurdle, and Equity, who i.ame down early, Were badly injured, and had, to 'be shot.

ADELAIDE GRAND RATIONAL. ADELAIDE, Aug. 13. The National Hurdle Race resulted: '—{York 1, Actress 2, Bindon 3. Seven-, teen started.
