The Welliitgton City Council has succeeded in negotiating locally, on Most satisfactory terms, for the floatation of a now loan of £235,000. 1% had been originally intended to float tlio loan at 4j per cent., but it Wjas decided subsequently to raise it at 4 per cent, and ultimately tho Council received an offer for £9B nett for tho w:iole loan. This offer has been accepted, and there was no cxpenso, b<tyond u tow gUlnctas, to the Council.
