DISTRICT MEETING. The ball-yearly district meeting of the Taranaki District A.O.F. was held at the Foresters' l-lall, Gill Street, on Tuesday evening. There were present: District Chief Ranger, liro. A. J. Tunbridge (in the chair) ; D.S.C.R., Bro. F. Bennett; D.T., Bro. B. K. Cattlcy ; D.S., Bro. L. TimbiMge ; and D.8., Bvo. G. Brauiul The following represented the undermentioned Courts Court Taranaki, Bro. C. B. Level', C.R. ; Court Waircka, Bro. C. F. Foots, P.D.C.R., and Bro. H. N. Goldwater, P.D.C.R. ; Court lnglewood Forest, Bro. H. Stimpson ; Court Patea, Bro K. White ; Court Raleigh, Bro. C. Sampson, C.R. ; Court Egmont, liro. Yv. Hopkins, P.D.C.R,. ; Court Stratford, Bro. R. J. Kivcll, P.C.R. ; Court Pride of( New>- Plymouth, Sister M. A. Pearce, P.C.R. ; Court Fidelity, Sister F. Gomer, P.C.R. The report of District Officers stated that all the Courts in the district have been officially visited by one or more of the District Officers during the past half year, with the exception of Court Optmake, which was visi'led by P.C.R. Bro. W. J. Trteby, of Court Taranaki. They found the work and duties appertaining to the Courts have been carried out in a most careful and capable manner, and the Courts appear to be making a steady headway as regards progress financially. Male adult benefit members of the Order number 738,538, female 9460, honorary members (male and female) 21,398, widows (contributing members for funeral allowance) 24,880, members of juvenile societies (mala and female) 122,922, junior and probationary members of adult Courts 6ffl4 ; total 923,662. The increases in members during the year were Female adult members 313, widows contributing funeral allowances 529, junior and probationary members 861 —total increase 1702. Funds of the Order, Dec. 31, 1904 :—Court funds £6,tr85,321, district funds £1,061,317, juvenile societies' funds £212,549, widows' and orphans' societies funds £55,631, High Court funds £15,067 ; total, £8,030,1-88. The increases in the year of funds were :—Court funds £227,413, district funds £29,957, juvenile societies' funds £3093, widows' ant! orphans' funds £B6B, High Court Funds of the Order,' Dee. 31, £2271 ; total increase, £263,602. During the year death claimed three members ami one mentrcr's wife. In conclusion, the officers thanked members heartily lor' the kin-rt consideration shown them during the past six months.
A vote of thanks was passed to Courts Waireka and Taranaki for the manner in which the delegates had been received and entertained.
! During the meeting the .D.C.R, Bro.' A. J. TunbrMge, presented P.D.C.R. Jewels to . Bros. C. f], Foote, N. Golding, W. Nicholls, J. C.-Peach, and W. Hbpkins, in appreciation cf lite services rendered by them to the Order. The following nominations for the various offices were received D.S. C.R. Bro. F. 0. Bennett for D.C.R. ; D.B. Bro. G. Braund for D.S.C.R. and Bro. G. Burgess for D.S.C.R., P.C.R. Bro. C. Lever for D.8., and Bro. G. Burgess for D.B. Other routine business was gone through ami the meeting then adjourned. Mr and Mrs C. Clarke, of the While Hart Hotel, are to be complimented on the luncheon that was provided for the delegates and officers attendinvg the district meeting.
