The French Visit to England.
A Festival of Peace. Tbe Entente Capable of Expansion. (Received Aug. 9, 11.45 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 9. Some of t/he London papers have been printed partly in French in honour of,the/visili of the French squadron. Parisian newspapers are unanimous in acclaiming the naval ilemonst ration as a festival of peace. Several declare that France is anxious to be on good terms with ihe nations. Lc Temps says the entente suffices for the actual interests of Great Britain and France, and any attempt to prematurely extend its scope would be dangerous, but should their interests extend on parallel lines the understanding' wouM tend to develop naturally. The officers of tbe French Madron watched the racing for the King's Cup at the Cowes regatta. Sonic of the officers visited Osborne House and attended Viscountess Gorst's garden party.
