HONOURING A DEAD STATESMAN.
(Pet Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 8. The Rolleston Memorial Committee has decided to obtain a pedestal of polished white limestone from Home at a cost of £305. The statue is expected ' t>o arrive in the colony in about two months. There has Veil sent Home £IOOO to pay tho sculptor, and the committee has £2sl 3s Id in hand. It is considered there Will be no difficultyjn raising tho additional amount necessary for tlm pedestal.
| On the motion of Mr C. C. Hardy, M.H.R., the committee decided that inquiries be. made from the sculptor as to. the cost of a bust of the late Hon. W. Rolleston, to be placed in tlw Parliamentary Library,
