Well-Deserved Punishment. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 8. The Canterbury Rugby Union has suspended a player named Pereival, a member of the Ly Helton Feotbali Club, for five years from date, tot having used obscene language in a game played last Saturday.
The following play for Star 111. A. against all-comers to-morrow Full, Davidson; ;■ three-quarters, Osborne, Pearcc, Boult-on ; five-eighth, Jones ; half, Whitaker ; wings, Woods and Gibbons ; forwards, Lowe, Arthur, Free thy, McCoy, C. Pearce, Brown and Reardon.
The selection committee have chosen the following to play in the trial matoh at Waitara to-morrow :—Gudgeon, Sutherland, Hobson, Sangstci' Dring, Gibbs, Dugdalc, Schoficld, Wilson, Prosser, Bowew, Frost, Bullock, Clark, Saunders, Hartley, A. Ambury, R. Ambury, Acklom, Soutliam, Lister, Newton. Players are notified Ito get in as much practice as possible, as the rep. -team will probably be picked horn -the above.
