Tim Equitable Life Assurance Society has received the following cable from New York: "The following declaration has been made by Mr Francis Hendricks, Superintendent of Insurance for the State of New York : ' I deem it proper at this time to . say that in connection with the ex- r amination of the Society now in gress by the Department, I am at. (late sufficiently well informed as to its condition to unhesitatingly state jit is financially sound, and that all its contracts to policy-holders are fully and safely, guaranteed,' ■'-'•
