Facilities Promised. (Received Aug. 1, 10.3 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. I. ..The Consul-General of Germany |has received official advices that the changes desired by Australia In the Marshall Islands will be given effect to on Oct. 1. Mr Deakin, Federal Premier, read a cable in the Federal House frotn Hon. A. Lyttelton, Secretary of State for the Colonies, announcing receipt toy, the British Government ot a conciliatory toman Note, stating that facilities will be granted to Mes-< srs Burns, Philp and Co. to lease land for trading stations at tho Marshall and Caroline IslandsThe Government is also revising the fiscal legislation of the Mar* shalls. The announcemeot was received with cheering.
